There is a tarmac surfaced area at the side of the holiday home that allows parking for one car or low sided vehicle. The Holiday Home is in a quiet location and is only a couple of minutes walk from the Orchards reception area, the beach, FunWorks Amusements and Entertainment Venue's, the bus stop and no more than a few minutes walk from all of The Orchards other fantastic amenities. There are other car parks nearby at the Orchards and a locked enclosure for boats, jetSkis and jetBikes etc.

Nearby, about 2 minutes walk away from your holiday home and facing Point Clear Bay, you will find the Tudor Cafe, which serves a great selection of "freshly cooked home made food". This includes, Full English Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner, Snacks, Takeaway food and all at reasonable prices. The Tudor Cafe is a must for all. Whether you want to eat there everyday, or for their delicious "Traditional Sunday Roast Dinner." They are open all day, 7 day's a week throughout the holiday season.

Nearby, about 5 minutes drive away from your holiday home is the village of St Osyth, where you will find the famous St Osyth Priory and what is considered to be the most notable building in the village. A mediaeval Abbey, which is now the Parish Church, dedicated to St Peter and St Paul. There are traditional British Pubs, two traditional Butchers shops and a variety of eating places including, "The Village Chippy" a traditional takeaway fish and chip shop.

"The Top Ten Of Everything 2007" reports Point Clear, St Osyth, as the driest place in Great Britain again, with only 506.9mm of rain per year on average recorded over the last 40 years. Compare this with the wettest place in Great Britain, which is Crib Goch in Snowdonia, Wales, with an average of 4470mm of rain per year. 

Foot Ferry from Point Clear to Brightlingsea and East Mersea.

The first recorded ferry ran between Point Clear and Brightlingsea in 1699. The ferry service is seasonal and run's between June and September. Brightlingsea is the only Cinque Port in Essex. On Mersea Island you will be able to find, "The Gourmet Colchester Natives." Oysters that the Roman's some 2000 years ago declared were the only good thing to come out of Great Britain. These and Gigas (rocks) oysters are freshly harvested from the West Mersea oyster bed's. And are available from the harvesting Companies family run, "Company Shed Fish and Seafood Bar" on Mersea Island.
